District Nurses

Our District Nurses work with the practice to provide nursing care for people confined to their homes through infirmity or ill health. which is now based at Honiton Hospital. Messages may be left Monday to Friday 9.00am - 16:30 pm on 01404 540 516.

Outside these hours, if you need to leave an urgent message for the District Nurse team, please telephone 0845 6710270 (Devon Doctors on Call).

Community Midwives

If you are pregnant, you will be asked to make an appointment with one of the community midwives. They will coordinate all your ante-natal and post-natal care. Parent craft classes are also available.

Honiton has a local maternity unit and the senior midwife is Alison Barling.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors, or Specialist Public Health Nurses as they are now called, are based at the Jerrard Wing of Honiton Hospital.

The Team, led by Sylvia Burchell, includes Health Visitors, a Nursery Nurse and two School Health Nurses. Although much of their work centres around families, they are also qualified to work with all age groups and are able to offer a variety of services including Smoke Stop and work with older adults. Please contact them if you feel they may be able to help you lead as healthy lifestyle as possible both physically and mentally.
